Portraits

My journey as a photographer began in 1992. I asked a few of my performers from Six Flags to model while I researched and tested lighting techniques. I also invested in a home darkroom and soon taught myself to develop and print my own film and prints.

Much to my surpirse, the models began showing off the photos. I started getting calls from actors, singers, and business owners requesting modeling photos and headshots.

I returned to Kennesaw State University to get my BA in Art with a concentration in photography. At Kennesaw State, I perfected my lighting and darkroom skills, as well as being photographer, graphic designer, and editor of multiple campus publications.

As a photography instructor at North Metro, I have made the transition to digital with the purchase of a high end camera and the start of a personal business focusing on model and theater photography.

Promotion

I started shooting special events and promotions in 1990 while I was at Six Flags Over Georgia. I soon found myself shooting fireworks, laser shows, and concerts for magazines and promotional packets.

Editorial

During college, I was a photographer for all three publications on campus - The Sentinel Newspaper, Talisman Magazine, and Share - the art and literary magazine. My experience grew as I photographed activities, sports, concerts, and even protests. One of my staff members was employed by the Atlanta Journal and Constitution after graduation and asked if I would be interested in becoming a freelance photographer.

For years, I photographed real estate for Special Sections, but I was soon getting assignments to shoot locations, Intown Living, annual bridal sections, and festivals and events like the Inman Park Festival.

Theater

In addition to portrait photography, I am currently staff photographer for Stage Door Players in Dunwoody. I do photography for press and publicity realeases, which include photography of special events and productions.

In the past, I have had the privilege to be the photographer for organizations like Six Flags Over Georgia, OnStage Atlanta, and the Cobb Children's Theater.
